about

Four years after his groundbreaking debut, Tom Sherlock (aka Henry Homesweet) unveiled his long-awaited sophomore album. With Enter 5D, he challenged the expectations of his huge online fanbase and took the Henry Homesweet signature sound into previously unexplored psychedelic realms. Though the approach and the technology had changed little since Palm Trance was released in 2008, the new album proved to be a stunning leap forward from the retro-primitivism of his debut. With nothing more than a couple of Nintendo Game Boys, a salvaged drum machine and an old Atari ST, Tom has reshaped the possibilities of 8-bit music and produced an album of masterfully executed electronica. He has teased out textures and tones from the Game Boy sound chip to create lush, transcendental soundscapes, drawing influences from progressive trance, techno and even post-rock. Of course, there’s always room for a couple of bangers and Enter 5D does not disappoint; it features a remix of Toaster from The Ugly Truth About Ipswich compilation and seismic floor-shaker Until I Sleep.

When the album was remastered prior to manufacture, tracks 5 and 6 were re-ordered. The sleeve artwork was not changed and incorrectly shows track 5 as "Toaster" and track 6 as "Wetiko". This is a glass-mastered CD in a digipack card sleeve.

“I have to be honest and say that Henry Homesweet has just about gone and created the greatest album imaginable. Enter 5D is Bach or Mozart for a new generation.” - Grapevine
